The Panamanian National Air and Naval Service (SENAN) has selected Embraer’s Super Tucano as its surveillance and protection platform.

The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has received an order for a fleet of four A-29s to strengthen the country’s national security operations. The announcement was made at the LAAD Defense & Security exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, which runs through April 4.

“It is an honor for Embraer to have its aircraft selected by the Panamanian National Air and Naval Service and the Ministry of Public Security,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “The Super Tucano is a state-of-the-art aircraft in its category and will undoubtedly enhance Panama’s surveillance, reconnaissance, and protection capabilities.”

“Embraer is a strong ally in supporting Panama’s mission to preserve its national sovereignty and guarantee the protection of its natural resources and rights,” he added.
