Delta Air Lines will restart nonstop service between Pittsburgh and Orlando this winter, adding a fifth carrier option on this popular leisure route as Pittsburgh International Airport sees record Florida-bound traffic.
Delta Air Lines will resume nonstop flights between Pittsburgh International Airport and Orlando International Airport this winter after a six-year hiatus, offering Saturday-only seasonal service from December 20, 2025, through April 11, 2026.
The announcement, made Friday according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, marks Delta’s return to a route it abandoned in 2019. The service will operate once weekly during the peak winter travel season, targeting leisure travelers heading to Florida.
Pittsburgh International Airport recently recorded its highest-ever passenger numbers to Florida destinations in March, highlighting the importance of these routes to the airport’s operations.
“We know Florida is an incredibly important market for our passengers, and we are offering more options than ever for Pittsburghers to get to the Sunshine State,” said Joe Rotterdam, Director of Air Service Development at Pittsburgh International, in a statement.
Delta will join four other airlines already serving the Pittsburgh-Orlando market. Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines operate daily service between the cities, while Frontier Airlines offers seasonal flights during peak travel periods. Allegiant Air serves the market through flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport.
The new Delta service will operate as Flight 5767, departing Orlando at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Pittsburgh at 3:25 p.m. In the opposite direction, flights will leave Pittsburgh at 9:50 a.m. and land in Orlando at 12:20 p.m.
Republic Airways will operate the flights using Embraer E175 aircraft under the Delta Connection brand through a subcontracting agreement. Passengers will have options for Delta Main Cabin, Delta Comfort+, and Delta First class seating.
The route represents an unusual strategy for Delta, which typically focuses on high-frequency business routes through its hub airports. This once-weekly service bypasses Delta’s hub network entirely, resembling a point-to-point model more commonly used by budget carriers.
Despite competing against low-cost carriers on the route, Delta’s fares start at approximately $780 round-tripβsignificantly higher than competing airlines. This premium pricing reflects Delta’s strategy of leveraging its brand reputation to command higher fares in competitive markets.
