Delta Confirms Nonstop Flights From Austin to Paris Starting 2027

Daily summer-season service to the City of Light begins March 27, 2027, on a 281-seat Airbus A330-900neo — Austin’s first Paris link and the only U.S. airline nonstop from AUS to Europe.

Delta Air Lines will begin daily seasonal nonstop flights between Austin and Paris on March 27, 2027, becoming the only U.S. carrier to fly nonstop from the Texas capital to Europe.

The Atlanta-based carrier announced the route Thursday, with tickets going on sale Saturday. It will be the first scheduled nonstop passenger service ever flown between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The seasonal summer route lands in a market that has been sending travelers to France the hard way for years. Roughly 51,100 passengers flew between Austin and Paris in both directions in 2025, according to Sabre Market Intelligence data reported by Aviation Week — every one of them connecting somewhere along the way. That makes Paris Austin’s second-largest European city pair behind London, which drew about 181,700 passengers, and ahead of Amsterdam at roughly 47,000 and Frankfurt at about 26,800.

What Delta Flights From Austin to Paris Will Look Like

Delta will fly the route with the Airbus A330-900neo, one of the newest wide-body types in its fleet, configured for 281 passengers across four cabins.

The eastbound flight departs Austin at 3:15 p.m. and arrives at Charles de Gaulle at 8:15 a.m. the following day. The return leaves Paris at 10:10 a.m. and touches down in Austin at 2:20 p.m. the same day. Times are subject to change. The eastbound trip covers roughly 5,100 miles in about 10 hours.

Up front, the aircraft carries 29 Delta One lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 layout with privacy doors, luxury bedding, chef-curated meals and premium beverages. Behind that sit 28 Delta Premium Select seats with wider dimensions, deeper recline, more legroom and an enhanced meal service. The main cabin holds 224 seats, including 56 Delta Comfort seats with extra legroom at the front of the section. Delta says the type also carries increased cargo capacity.

Through Delta’s joint venture with Air France-KLM, passengers connecting at Charles de Gaulle will reach nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa on a single itinerary.

From expanded domestic flying to strong international connectivity through our partnership with Air France-KLM, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to connect from Central Texas to destinations around the world.”

A Fourth European Nonstop for Austin-Bergstrom

Paris becomes Austin’s fourth nonstop European destination, joining London Heathrow on British Airways, Frankfurt on Lufthansa and Amsterdam on KLM. British Airways operates the highest frequency of the three, flying up to 14 times a week from Austin in the summer 2026 season, according to the airline; KLM flies to Amsterdam three times weekly.

Counting Delta’s Paris service alongside its Air France and KLM partners, the group expects up to 10 weekly nonstop flights between Austin and Europe at the peak of summer 2027. Aviation Week reported that the route broadens the joint venture’s ability to compete for Europe-bound passengers against British Airways and Lufthansa.

Capacity across the wider Austin-Europe market has been climbing even as the number of flights has held roughly flat. OAG Schedules Analyser data cited by Aviation Week put summer 2026 capacity at about 352,000 two-way seats, an increase of 9.1% year over year.

Ghizlane Badawi, chief executive officer of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, called the announcement “a significant milestone for AUS and another important step in expanding Central Texas connectivity to the world.”

“Non-stop service to Paris, with convenient connections across Europe and beyond, will provide our community with greater access to global destinations while creating new opportunities for business, tourism and cultural exchange,” Badawi said in the airport’s announcement.

Delta Keeps Building in Central Texas

The Paris route arrives as Delta expands rapidly at an airport where it now ranks second only to Southwest Airlines.

Delta scheduled about 1.59 million departure seats from Austin in summer 2026, up 7.6% from a year earlier, giving it an 18.4% share of the airport’s capacity, according to OAG data reported by Aviation Week. Southwest holds 43.7%, American Airlines about 14.4% and United Airlines roughly 12.1%. Delta’s passenger counts at the airport rose 14.9% for full-year 2025, 11.7% in June 2026 and 16.7% in the first half of 2026, according to airport traffic reports.

By summer 2027, Delta expects to serve roughly 30 destinations from Austin with more than 70 peak-day departures.

The airline announced three other route changes the same day. Daily service to San Diego starts April 12, 2027, on the Airbus A319. Austin–San Jose, California, service that starts Oct. 6, 2026, goes from one daily flight to two on the same date, also on the A319. Cancún, Mexico, currently a winter seasonal route, becomes year-round in 2027.

On the ground, Delta employs more than 900 people across Central Texas and recently opened a base with more than 100 flight attendants. It operates a Sky Club at the airport and is planning a second, larger club alongside the airport’s expansion, with the goal of operating from a total of 15 gates at the planned Concourse A.

Austin Mayor Kirk Watson framed the route in economic terms.

“This route will not only make travel to Paris and destinations across Europe more convenient for Austinites, but it will also create new opportunities for economic vitality and strengthen connections between local businesses and the French economy,” Watson said.

Susan Davenport, president and chief executive officer of Opportunity Austin, said the commercial ties are already substantial. “France is already one of The Austin region’s most important European partners, with 27 companies announcing new or expanded operations here since 2004 and more than 3,300 existing jobs tied to French companies,” she said.

Tom Noonan, president and chief executive officer of Visit Austin, said the milestone reflects the city’s standing abroad. “A fourth transatlantic route leaves no doubt that Austin is a truly international destination, and a milestone like this doesn’t happen without a partner like Delta betting big on our future,” he said.

Austin has been circling a Paris link for years. Norwegian Air announced Austin-Paris flights in October 2019 and planned to start them in May 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic scuttled the route before it ever flew.

The airport handled 21.67 million passengers in 2025, its third-busiest year on record despite a 0.44% dip from 2024, and 2,102,853 in June 2026, a 4.4% increase and its busiest month ever, according to airport figures. It is advancing an estimated $5 billion expansion program branded “Journey With AUS.”
